Social Studies:
We finished our partner book - We Are Alike, We Are Different and shared them with the class. Then we began our unit on feelings. We read "Today I Feel Silly" and discussed different feelings.
Literature:
This week in literature we met our new author Margie Palatini. We read "Moosestache" and "Moosekitos: A Family Moose Reunion." We are focusing this author study on sequencing events from the story.
Kidwriting:
This week we wrote about what we like to do with our friends.
Christian Education:
We read the story on baby Moses.
Gym:
We played parachute activities, practiced throwing in a pumpkin toss game and practiced knocking pumpkins off a chair.
Art:
We read "Raptors, Fossils, Fins and Fangs" and colored different prehistoric animals.
Science:
We are continuing our unit on weather in science. This week we've been focusing on clouds. We read "Shapes in the Sky: A Book About Clouds" and discovered the four main types of clouds; stratus, cumulus, cirrus, and cumulonimbus. We made cloud people to help us see the different types of clouds and their place in the sky. We also discussed how the clouds make rain and got to make our cumulonimbus clouds and watch it rain!
