Yesterday the kindergarten class took their first field trip to the PA State Museum! Everyone was very excited for the first field trip of the year and especially excited to ride the school bus! After arriving at the museum we spent some time in the Curiosity Connection. The students got to explore all different types of dramatic play areas. There was a house area with a sensor to change the different patterns of the lights! There was also a large pretend garden where the students could harvest various fruits and vegetables. The students enjoyed playing on the truck and running through the pretend forest full of large mushrooms, a tree trunk and many critters. After curiosity corner we went to the planetarium for a kid friendly show about outer space. We met Dudley the duck and followed him on his first day outside. We learned how the earth moves and where the sun rises and sets. We also got to see some pretty cool pictures in the sky! After the planetarium we enjoyed lunch outside on the plaza. The students then had some time to explore the different floors in the museum. They found a wooly mammoth skeleton, various animals, Native Americans and a large locomotive!
