Wednesday, October 22nd was Unity Day. The students had two class sessions that focused on unity and being a buddy! During the first session, Ms. Lisa read "LLama Llama and the Bully Goat" with the children. They talked about things a buddy does and things a bully does. They also watched a role play with stick puppets to determine if a person as being a bully. The students also made a class book on things a bully does.
During the second session the students talked about what to do if you are bullied or see bullying. They signed a pledge to help someone by telling an adult. Ms. Lisa talked to the students about unity and working together. The students made unity necklaces, glitter words for unity and a "be kind" banner. Students also talked about how it might feel if they were bullied.
The day was finished by reading "Bullies Never Win" by Margery Cuyler.
